During the second term of this year a drama group was initiated, under the able guidance of the Deputy Head, Mr. Sheil. The first informal meeting was attended by pupils of all years, all dramatic enthusiasts, and certain plays were selected for presentation later in the year.
The organization really began to develop during the third term. The first formal meeting was held, to elect office-bearers and to draw up a constitution. At this meeting the name "The Cooma Junior Theatre" was adopted, and it was decided that membership would be open to all Cooma children of high school age. It was suggested that we should seek affiliation with the Cooma Little Theatre; members of that body are now giving active and valuable assistance in our productions.
Four plays are now under rehearsal for production in a short time. They are: "Poison, Passion and Petrification" by G. B. Shaw; "The Happy journey" by Thornton Wilder; "Song in the Wind" by Patricia Beven-Parry; "The Lady from Abroad" by Mabel Constanduras and Howard Agg.
