On Friday, 24th October, the Fifth Year of 1958 was farewelled at a dinner and a social, prepared by Fourth Year, helped by Mr. Lauchly and Miss Burmeister.
The pupils, staff and guests enjoyed a good meal consisting of cold salad and hot dishes followed by trifle. Speeches were made by Mr. Laughlin, Mr. Howarth, of the staff, and also by the captains Julie Malcolm and David Andean, vice-captains Fairley Lang and Artur Stolz and Nola Bond, Frank Laidler and Peter Moye. Andrew Frost from Fourth Year officiated as Chairman. The dinner was concluded by the singing of the School Song, which was composed by Mr. Howarth.
After the dinner, pupils and some of the staff went to the East Camp Recreational Hall where the remainder of the School farewelled Fifth Year at an enjoyable social.
We all wish Fifth Year every success in the Leaving and in their future careers.
