Kunama 1959

An Adventure

Three, Two, One, Zero blasting off to outer space. There I was sitting in a rocket on my way to the moon. Although I was a little frightened I was Excited too.

Boy! what an experience! I could see behind us, the earth. It looked like a large orange with markings on it. All around were stars and planets. Venus was the most beautiful of them all. I even saw a shooting star - he was wearing a six shooter and a large ten gallon hat! When we passed through the Milky Way I had a glass of lovely fresh milk, just to refresh me.

When we landed on the moon, the "Man in the Moon' came down and welcomed us to his palace. He invited us in for some green cheese and milk. just as I was enjoying it I got the surprise of my life for a large, black cow jumped over the moon. I started to laugh and the old man was very hurt and angry. As punishment he locked me in a cold, dark cell. It was awful cooped up alone in there. All of a sudden I heard a voice calling "Margaret." and someone was shaking me. "Wake up". It was mum, and she then told me where I was. I was in hospital and I had just come out of the anaesthetic as I had had my appendix removed.
