Not so very long ago
The ground was nearly white with snow,
Little birds up in the trees
Were protected from the breeze,
Cuddled in their cosy nests
Closed their eyes and tried to rest.
All the trees and shrubs were bare,
Not a leaf or bud was there.
Now the flowers have started to bloom
And the sun is warm at noon,
Little lambs are out to play
To enjoy a happy day.
