Kunama 1960

Literary Contributions / Winter

The sun rose brightly over the cops of the mountains, its rays glittering on the frost on the blades of grass.

During the morning small clouds floated across the sky and a small breeze moaned through the trees. Suddenly the clouds started to form, building up in dark manes over the mountain, and the wind dropped. In another hour the sky was clouded over and it turned very cold.

Suddenly white soft flakes of snow whirled to the ground, not a leaf in the trees rustled nor a breath of wind stirred. Soon the ground was covered with soft white snow and the leaves in the trees were weighed down with the snow's weight and still it snowed.

All evening and all night and next morning the sun shone on a world of sparkling white.
