Kunama 1960

Literary Contributions / Homework

Time goes so fast, goodness me
I've been two hours, doing nothing it seems.
But let it wait another hour
In that time I'll have my shower.
Then, feeling fit, I'll knuckle down
To my Homework, that I'm bound.
Gee! I forgot; it's Wednesday night
Dexter's on; I'll be all right,
What's half an hour any way?
I'll make that up the easy way
By writing fast; Revision I'll spread
The rest I'll work out in my head.
Mrs. Kobza sure spared us none,
One hour of French already I've done.
God bless Mr. Webb who has given us nil,
For Mr. Morley two pages to fill.
Then from his bedroom my father crept,
Said "Come now son, you must go to bed."
"Oh! Dad," I said, "Please not just yet,"
"I've the History to do Mr. Jeffery has set."
It's 11 p.m., things look quite grim
With an hour of English to do for Miss Flynn.
For Mr. Holstock there's Maths left to do,
Tomorrow Mr. Laughlin our Revision will view.
The thought of tomorrow, when I toe the mat
Oh! I know the answer .... a bilious attack!
