Kunama 1961

School News / Drama, 1961

This year two plays have been presented in the new school Hall.

Mr. Langshaw produced "The Shirt" with 1A class. This hilarious farce tells the story of a king who wanted to sleep one night in the shirt of a happy man. There were nearly 49 speaking parts in this play.

Mr. Jeffery produced the Trial Scene from the "Merchant of Venice" with Pupils from 3B.

Both plays were presented to the school one afternoon, and again at night as part of the monthly Parents and Citizens' Association meeting. At the evening performance over two hundred parents attended.

The school was assisted a great deal by the Cooma Little Theatre, who made lights available; and the S.M.A. who lent a public address system which was used for background music.

It is hoped that more plays will be presented later.
