Kunama 1971

Speech Night 1970

Once again Monaro High School Speech Night lived up to its reputation.

The flavoured atmosphere was set by the unexpected but tactful switch from Gaudeamus to Hodie. Meanwhile the official party entered to be greeted in the typical Monaro High fashion.

The first highlight was Mr. Maugher’s overpowering oration, followed by the sharp, but subtle (i.e. political) wit of Mr. Allan Fraser.

After a varied choral break, Sir Roden Cutler spoke. His message to youth was both informative and thought-provoking. This was followed by the investiture of the prefects and the presentation of prizes.
The flute and clarinet trios then entertained the audience and the all too short evening was closed by a rousing chorus of the School Song.
