Kunama 1971

Perilous People

You’d better look out
O’Dwyer’s about
He’s after our fags and smokes.
And all through the day
He strides on his way
Keeping an eye on us blokes.

Sit down and shut up,
Thorne’s all het up.
Looking for trouble and strife.
Twenty pushups on the spot
Will be your lot
So you’d better sit still for your life.

Two and six make four,
Stranger’s at the door.
Anyone turning and talking,
He’ll assign us a compo
To be done pretty pronto
And then round the room he’ll keep walking.

Owzat! he’s out
Now there’s about
Nine wickets to fall and fifty to score.
Power is there
Tearing his hair
But all is well, we’ve gained sixty more.

In room 52
When Litot is due,
The gas taps are on and burners in place.
There’s a smell in the air
But no one’s aware
That we’re all in a state of collapse
