Kunama 1977

The Student Council report

Our aim was that the role of the Student Council should be to represent the views of the student body to the Administration and implement those views where necessary. As such, the council aimed to improve the conditions for students and not merely play a disciplinarian role.

Some of the measures introduces were:

  • a new senior lawn
  • student concession cards
  • study rooms (T8, T11)
  • student involvement on Parent/Teacher Night
  • sports store
  • voluntary Sixth Form sport
  • new food items at the Tuckshop

Apart from these, the Council was involved with various community projects and fundraising activities for charity.

Bored to tears? Read on. It gets better (well.. maybe...)
Many students approached menbers of the Council with suggestions but many of these were not viable (e.g. elevators in T and S Blocks, "blue" movies during lunchtime, abolition of teachers, etc.). The Council was sorry that these suggestions had to be rejected.
