Kunama 1977

Heading: Vice Squad

Heading: Vice Squad

This year new courses in Fibreglass, Leatherwork, Motor Maintenance, Building Construction, Cabinetwork, Industrial Arts, Drawing and Electronics were introduced. These courses are proving a tremendous amount of work for the staff but of great interest to the students.

During 1978, new courses in Metal Fabrication, Electronics 2 and 3, Cabinetwork 2, Metal Foundry and Sheetmetal work are due to commence. This will see the end of the introduction of new courses in Technics and will give the staff time to stabilise on these subjects.

To some degree it is a little sad to see the old traditional subjects of Woodwork, Metalwork and the old form of Tech Drawing fade from the school curriculum at the end of 1977.

In regard to the new subjects, it is still strange walking past a Woodwork room and being suffocated with the odour of fibreglass or walking past another room and hearing model aeroplanes revving madly as though anxiously waiting to flap their wings and fly.

We feel now, with our wide range of subjects, that we are catering for the needs and desires of our modern students.
